Goyang City to Regularize ‘Childbirth Encouragement Merit Award’
Mayor Lee Donghwan Presents Award to Family Welcoming Seventh Child After Seven Years
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) will regularize the ‘Childbirth Encouragement Merit Award’ for exemplary families who have given birth to their fifth or subsequent child starting in 2025, enhancing the prestige of the city as a ‘childbirth-friendly and family-friendly city.’

According to Goyang Special City on the 14th, the ‘Childbirth Encouragement Merit Award’ is promoted to encourage childbirth families, actively overcome the low birthrate crisis, and spread a childbirth-friendly and family-friendly culture throughout Goyang City.
The first recipient of the 2025 Childbirth Encouragement Merit Award was the ‘Baek Seung-yeol and Im So-hee family,’ who welcomed the city’s first ‘seventh child’ in seven years. The award ceremony was held on the 13th at the City Hall Cultural Center during the Staff Communication and Empathy Day event.
The Baek Seung-yeol and Im So-hee family expressed, “We are honored to receive congratulations along with the award at such a meaningful occasion,” adding, “We will continue to raise our children with great love as we do now and strive to be a model childbirth family in Goyang City.”
