"Brunch" is a portmanteau of Brain and Lunch, meaning "lunchtime where knowledge grows." The "Brunch" education program is designed to help busy public officials efficiently use their lunch hour (12 to 1 p.m.) to acquire practical and useful knowledge.

Participants can enjoy a simple meal such as a sandwich or salad while listening to lectures by experts in various fields including administration, economics, humanities, and the latest technology trends.

During the pilot period in March and April, the lecture topics are scheduled as follows: ▲ Public Officials' Asset Management and Self-Assessment (March 13) ▲ Appreciation and Value of Art Consumption (March 27) ▲ Generative AI Utilized by Public Officials (April 10) ▲ Wisdom for Workplace Life Learned from Humanities (April 24).

The first lecture held on the 13th in the city hall’s main conference room was successfully completed with great enthusiasm from the staff.

One participant said, "It was nice to attend the education without any burden by using lunchtime," and added, "The asset management lecture was practically helpful in planning my finances as a public official."

The city expects that the Brunch Education will contribute to enhancing public officials’ professionalism and work capabilities and to implementing proactive administration based on creative thinking.

Kim Hyung-gi, Director of the Human Resources Department, stated, "The capabilities of public officials lead to the quality of administrative services," and added, "Through Brunch Education, we plan to operate various educational programs to strengthen communication and empathy among employees and to broaden knowledge of the latest technologies and trends such as generative AI."

The "Brunch" program will be regularly held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month starting in May after the pilot operation in March and April.
