Cleanliness managers will be responsible for tidying and maintaining cleanliness around 552 local living waste collection points (currently 40 locations) from April through the end of the year, preventing illegal dumping of trash in alleyways, and receiving and coordinating the handling of complaints related to waste inconveniences.
They will work 2 hours a day, 5 days a week (up to 10 hours per week), and receive an activity compensation of 25,000 KRW.
Applicants must be citizens aged 20 or older who have continuously lived in Seongnam City for at least 12 months as of the announcement date (March 13).
To participate, applicants must submit the application form and other documents available on the Seongnam City website (announcement) in person to the Resource Circulation Division on the 5th floor of City Hall.
The city will prioritize residents living near collection point facilities and those with experience in waste or resource circulation fields and will notify individuals by March 28.
Seongnam City has been installing collection point facilities since October last year to address issues such as illegal dumping, odors, and aesthetic problems caused by trash disposal in alleyways or in front of detached houses, and plans to gradually expand them.
The collection point facilities are equipped with storage bins for incineration waste bags (660ℓ or 240ℓ) and storage bins for food waste bags (120ℓ).
When waste bags are placed in the storage bins, local collection companies pick them up twice a day.
Seongnam City plans to deploy cleanliness managers throughout the area to strengthen the prevention of illegal dumping and maintain the cleanliness of collection point facilities.
