"Praying for Stability and Peace in the Country"
Hong Jun-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, spoke about the pro and con rallies being held across the country ahead of the impeachment trial verdict for President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "Leadership that unites the people and coexists between the left and right is desperately needed."
On the 14th, Mayor Hong wrote on Facebook, "It has been over 20 years since the country was divided between left and right. Without creating a nation of national unity and coexistence between the left and right, it has become difficult for this country to become an advanced nation."
He said, "An extreme confrontation is expected this weekend, with both the left and right mobilizing for street protests," adding, "I hope it ends without any incidents."
Mayor Hong added, "Along with this brilliant spring day, I pray for stability and peace to come to my country."
