Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) is significantly expanding the ‘temporary care’ and ‘meal/snack provision’ services at elementary care centers to ease the worries of parents with elementary school children, while also enhancing program satisfaction.

Starting in March, the district has increased the number of temporary care uses at elementary care centers from 5 times to 10 times per month, allowing families who do not use regular care to access care services anytime in urgent situations.
For those who only want meal/snack provision, the service is also provided up to 10 times per month, minimizing care gaps during vacations or for dual-income families. Above all, the application process has been greatly simplified by reducing complicated paperwork. Those who wish to use the service can apply directly at the respective care center.
Additionally, a more systematic and differentiated educational program will be operated. Demand and satisfaction surveys will be conducted for children and parents to create customized programs, and coordination will be made to avoid overlap with school after-school programs, providing a more effective learning environment.
In particular, a differentiated educational service unique to Jung-gu elementary care centers will be established through step-by-step learning from basic to advanced courses. Furthermore, to ensure all centers provide equal and high-quality education, programs will be systematically operated in cooperation with professional management companies.
Jung-gu currently operates a total of 18 elementary care centers inside and outside schools, caring for 990 children. Notably, in January, the district opened the ‘Our Neighborhood Care Center No. 9,’ the first privately commissioned center in Jung-gu. Located within the Education Support Center, the No. 9 center is expected to provide higher-level care services based on public infrastructure and the operational expertise of private specialized institutions.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong stated, “We will continue to do our best so that Jung-gu’s elementary care system becomes a reliable support that eases parents’ worries by establishing a flawless and high-quality framework.”
