Five Themed Spaces Including Sabi Garden, Baekje Royal Tomb Garden, and Buyeo Garden
Construction to Be Completed by 2027, Registration as National Garden by 2030
Buyeo County in Chungnam Province announced on the 14th that it will pursue the creation of the Baekmagang National Garden, based on the splendid history of Baekje and the natural environment of the Baekmagang River.
The county plans to establish a 130-hectare garden in the Gunsuri area of Buyeo-eup along the Baekmagang River, aiming for designation as a national garden by 2030.
The Baekmagang National Garden is expected to develop into a specialized area for garden culture and industry by combining Buyeo's historical value and natural environment, forming a garden, eco, and historical belt.
At the ‘Baekmagang National Garden Creation Project Basic and Detailed Design Service Interim Report Meeting’ held at the county office on the 13th, the basic plan and main spatial development proposals were presented.
The garden exhibition area will be divided into five themed spaces: Sabi Garden, Baekje Royal Tomb Garden, Buyeo Garden, Culture Garden, and Recreation Garden. The ecological garden area will include a water reed colony, lotus observatory, narrow-mouthed toad wetland, hot air balloon garden, and canoe experience center.
The county plans to complete construction by 2027, operate the garden for three years, and register it as a national garden in 2030.
The county expects the Baekmagang National Garden project to revitalize the local economy and create new tourism resources.
Park Junghyun, the county governor, emphasized, “We will thoroughly prepare so that the garden becomes a new tourist attraction in Buyeo,” stressing close cooperation among related departments.
