On the morning of the 13th, Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do carried out a campaign to remove illegal advertisements around elementary schools to create a safe and clean educational environment.

This campaign is part of a five-week joint public-private initiative to clean up illegal advertisements around elementary schools during the back-to-school season, running until the 28th.

County Mayor Cho Sangrae personally participated in the campaign, engaging in the removal of illegal banners and encouraging residents to take interest and participate. Participants focused on removing illegal banners and posters in areas frequently used by students, such as main roads and school surroundings, to help create a cleaner street environment.

During this cleanup period, special attention was given to inspecting political banners within children's protection zones, which are now prohibited under recently revised laws, in an effort to ensure a safe environment for students on their way to and from school.

Mayor Cho Sangrae stated, "Illegal advertisements not only harm the city's appearance but also pose safety risks, so continuous management is necessary. We will work together with the community to raise awareness and strive to create a safe and pleasant living environment."

Meanwhile, Gokseong County plans to encourage voluntary participation from business owners and continue its efforts to remove illegal advertisements on an ongoing basis.
