Mayor Kim Dong-geun Emphasizes the Committee's Role in Enhancing Uijeongbu’s Design Status

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) appointed 25 members of the ‘Public Design Promotion Committee’ on the 13th at the city hall’s medium conference room to perform the roles of public design review and consultation.

The committee consists of a total of 25 members, including 1 ex officio member and 24 appointed members, with experts from various fields related to public design such as ▲design (environmental, visual, product) ▲architecture ▲urban planning ▲landscaping ▲universal design ▲CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design).

The committee members will serve for two years and are responsible for reviewing and advising on public design-related projects such as public spaces, public buildings, and urban infrastructure in accordance with Article 9-2 of the ‘Uijeongbu City Public Design Promotion Ordinance’.

After the appointment ceremony, the city held the ‘2025 1st Public Design Promotion Committee Meeting’ and began full-scale committee activities by reviewing the first agenda item, the ‘Camp La Guardia Sports Park and Parking Lot Construction Project’.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I hope the newly formed Public Design Promotion Committee will present diverse opinions to enhance Uijeongbu City’s status as a design city.”
