Korea National Oil Corporation (President: Kim Dongseob) signed a ‘Business Agreement for AI and Digital Innovation’ with KT Corporation (CEO: Kim Youngseob) at KT Beomil Tower in Busan on the 13th.

This agreement was established to secure the global digital competitiveness of Korea National Oil Corporation through AI innovation. To realize its vision of ‘AI for Energy, Energy for AI,’ the corporation plans to strengthen its technological cooperation with KT, aiming for ‘energy innovation using AI’ and ‘optimization of energy supply based on AI.’

Through this agreement, Korea National Oil Corporation and KT have agreed to mutually support digital transformation in various areas, including the application of AI technology in the energy sector, discovery of AI innovation projects, establishment of a digital work environment, enhancement of employees’ digital capabilities, and advancement of disaster and safety response systems.

With this agreement, Korea National Oil Corporation plans to proactively respond to global changes in the energy market and play a leading role in strengthening the digital competitiveness of the domestic energy industry.

Shin Yonghwa, Head of Management Support Division at Korea National Oil Corporation, stated, “Innovation using AI is an essential element for the sustainable growth and competitiveness of global energy companies,” and added, “Through this agreement, we will accelerate digital innovation and lead the paradigm shift in the domestic energy industry.”
