How Well Do You Know Myeongdong Cathedral? ... Docents Provide Direct Explanations Three Times a Week

According to the Archdiocese of Seoul, this tour will introduce the Gothic architectural features of Myeongdong Cathedral and the Catholic art pieces it houses. The tour will be held every Wednesday at 2:00 PM, and on Saturdays at 10:40 AM and 4:30 PM from April 2nd to June 21st. The tour will be led by the '2nd generation Catholic Art Docents' who have undergone a year of education and training.

Applications for participation will be accepted from 10:00 AM on the 17th via the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul website. Groups of 15 to 20 people can also apply for private tours. Both believers and non-believers can participate free of charge. Starting this year, a 'Visiting Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Program' will also be operated for elderly parishioners in the Seoul area.

Father Lee Jae-hyeop, in charge of the Public Relations Committee of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul, said, "Visiting Myeongdong Cathedral to see the artworks in person and listen to the docent explanations offers a deeper impression, but for those who find it difficult to attend due to personal circumstances, we have created the 'Myeongdong Cathedral Self-Docent Program.' Since it is made by extracting only the key points from the scripts used by Catholic Art Docent volunteers during the actual tours, we hope it will be widely utilized."
