Chungnam Police to Disclose Name, Age, and Face on Website Until July 14
The police have released the personal information of Lee Jihyun (34), who murdered a woman in her 40s whom she had never met before in Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province, on the 13th.
The South Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency will disclose Lee Jihyun's name, age, and face on their website from today until July 14.
Earlier, on the 7th, the police held a review committee and decided to disclose Lee Jihyun's personal information due to the seriousness of the crime.
Lee Jihyun is suspected of stabbing and killing a woman in her 40s, identified as Ms. B, whom she encountered while wandering around the Sagok-ri area of Seocheon-gun at about 9:30 p.m. on the 2nd.
After analyzing CCTV footage, the police identified Lee Jihyun and tracked her down, arresting her at her residence.
During police questioning, she reportedly stated, "I recently lost a large sum of money in a scam and was under extreme stress. I felt so overwhelmed because the world didn't help me, so I took a weapon and went out into the street. As soon as I saw Ms. B, I killed her."
