Hanyang University announced on the 14th that it has further strengthened its global competitiveness by achieving its best-ever results in the ‘2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject’.
In this year’s evaluation, Hanyang University showed balanced growth across various academic fields, not only in engineering and natural sciences, where it has traditionally been strong, but also in humanities and social sciences, solidifying its position as a university with academic balance.
Notably, the number of academic fields ranked within the top 200 worldwide increased from 15 in 2024 to 30 in 2025, demonstrating a remarkable improvement in research and educational capabilities. Additionally, the number of fields ranked within the top 100 surged from 3 in 2024 to 18 in 2025, setting a record high. This is an important achievement that shows Hanyang University’s international recognition across diverse fields.
Furthermore, the 101?200 ranking range included not only engineering and natural science fields such as computer science, mathematics, and physics & astronomy, but also design, English language & literature, business administration, media communication, economics, law, political & international studies, and statistics. Hanyang University stated that this indicates balanced and continuous development, with notable achievements in humanities, arts, and social sciences as well.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject is a prestigious global university ranking that evaluates 55 detailed academic fields based on indicators such as research performance, academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, and H-Index, covering over 5,200 universities worldwide. The 2025 evaluation included 1,747 universities, and Hanyang University enhanced its international status by achieving excellent results in multiple fields.
