T'way Air is making every effort to strengthen safety operation management by recruiting 170 maintenance personnel this year.

On the 13th, T'way Air announced that it plans to hire a total of about 170 maintenance personnel, including new hires, interns, and experienced workers, by the end of this year.

T'way Air completed the recruitment of about 50 maintenance technicians in January. In addition, the application period for new intern flight maintenance personnel in the first half of the year has ended, and interviews will be conducted from the end of March. The final successful candidates are scheduled to join in two groups in April and June of the first half, totaling about 50 people, and after completing job and field training, they will be assigned to aircraft maintenance tasks. Additional recruitment of new maintenance technicians is planned for the second half of the year as well.

Experienced maintenance technicians are being recruited on an ongoing basis, including positions in aircraft flight maintenance, parts repair for aircraft body repair, and maintenance specialist instructors responsible for aircraft maintenance education.

A T'way Air official emphasized, "To ensure safe flight operations, we are continuously making various safety investment efforts to expand maintenance personnel, strengthen aircraft operation safety, and enhance passenger convenience."

Recently, T'way Air introduced a Boeing 737-8 aircraft spare engine (LEAP-1B27) to improve aircraft availability and operational safety. At the same time, it plans to modernize its fleet by increasing the number of B737-8 models to 20 by the end of 2027.

In 2020, the company invested 10 billion KRW to establish an aviation training center. It has set up state-of-the-art training facilities such as emergency escape slides, fire suppression rooms, first aid practice rooms, emergency equipment rooms, and cabin mock-ups. The center has been recognized for its excellence, with international aviation officials from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conducting on-site inspections and experiences. It has obtained approval as an Aviation Training Organization (ATO) from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and is conducting systematic safety training.

In 2022, T'way Air signed a 'Total Care Service Agreement for A330 Engine Management' with Rolls-Royce, introducing Rolls-Royce's advanced engine health monitoring technology to establish a safe operation system based on predictability and reliability.

Next year, T'way Air plans to sequentially introduce five 'A330-900NEO' aircraft, becoming the first national airline to do so, to modernize its fleet, strengthen operational capabilities, and advance as an eco-friendly airline by reducing carbon emissions.
