Capable of Walking, Running, Body Rotation, and Climbing Stairs
Can Open Bottle Caps and Read and Understand Medication Instructions
Currently in the Testing Phase Before Commercialization
A humanoid robot in China has emerged that demonstrates human-like athletic abilities to the extent that it can ride a bicycle.
Chinese media outlets such as Sina Finance and Guangming Online reported on the 12th that Chinese humanoid robot startup Aegibot (Ziyuan Robotics) unveiled a prototype of their new product, the 'Lingxi X2' (hereafter X2), which stands 1.3 meters tall and weighs 33.8 kilograms, the day before.
A video released by the company's co-founder and chief technology officer, Feng Zuhui, showed the X2 walking, running, rotating its body, climbing stairs, dancing, and even riding a bicycle in what appears to be an underground parking lot. It also maintained balance on a scooter and an electric mobility device called a hoverboard, earning praise for surpassing the flexibility of other humanoid robots.
According to reports, the X2 is based on a multimodal large language model (LMM), an artificial intelligence (AI) model that analyzes and processes various data types including text, voice, images, and video, enabling it to excel in human interaction.
In the video, when Feng Zuhui showed his smartphone and asked, "What time is it now?" the X2 responded, "It is 5:42 AM." When Feng, holding a bottle of milk in his right hand and a beverage bottle in his left, asked, "I can't sleep, which drink should I have?" the robot replied, "I recommend drinking a glass of milk that helps with sleep."
The company stated that the robot can assess emotional states through human facial expressions and tone of voice and provide appropriate responses accordingly.
The robot is also capable of opening bottle caps and reading and understanding medication instructions. Aegibot representatives said, "Applications can be expanded to various daily life fields such as education and healthcare, including roles like security guards, nannies, and cleaners."
The robot is currently in the testing phase before commercialization and is expected to be available on the market within the next two years.
