This visiting bus, in cooperation with Gwangju Korean Medicine Hospital of Dongshin University (12 medical staff), is providing health consultations, Korean medicine treatment, musculoskeletal disease treatment, and pharmaceutical supplies to farmers aged 60 and over residing in Haksan-myeon and Miam-myeon, Yeongam-gun, over two days on the 12th and 13th.
This year, Jeonnam plans to support about 130,000 farmers by investing a total project budget of 1.413 billion KRW (565.2 million KRW from the national treasury, 423.9 million KRW each from the Nonghyup Central Association and local governments).
More local residents than expected pre-registered, showing high interest and participation in the Rural Visiting Bus.
Lee Gwangil, head of the branch, said, "The Rural Visiting Bus is an essential project to resolve medical blind spots and protect the health of farmers," and added, "We will continue to expand it as a welfare project to improve the quality of life for farmers in cooperation with local governments."
The Rural Visiting Bus is a nationwide project jointly promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, local governments, and the Nonghyup Central Association to provide comprehensive medical services to residents in rural areas.
