Collecting On-site Feedback on the Way to School
Inspecting School Routes for Safety and Holding Meetings with School Officials
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has engaged in on-site communication with elementary schools in the area to welcome the new semester.
This is to actively reflect the opinions gathered on-site in the district's educational policies and administration.
The district announced that on the 10th and 11th, they held communication sessions with students and parents at Changgyeong Elementary School and Nuwon Elementary School, respectively.
Participating in the communication were Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, the Director of the Administration and Safety Bureau, the Head of the Education Support Division, and other related staff. To foster friendly communication, Dobong-gu’s characters Eunbongi and Hakbongi also joined.
They accompanied students and parents during school arrival time and communicated openly. They lowered their posture to listen carefully, not missing even the smallest voice.
They also carefully inspected school commuting routes for any safety hazards. One parent informed Mayor Oh about the need for repairs to the aging fences and barbed wire around the school environment. In response, Mayor Oh said, “We will work closely with the education office and related agencies to ensure that this issue is resolved promptly.”
After all students had arrived by 9 a.m., meetings were held in the school principal’s office with the principal, the parent association, and the school operation committee.
During the meetings, open discussions took place regarding necessary measures to create a safe educational environment, ways to strengthen support for public education, and plans for after-school classroom operations.
On-site communication with elementary schools will continue at Changdo Elementary School on the 13th, Sungmi Elementary School on the 18th, and Jaun Elementary School on the 20th. Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, “Through this on-site communication, I was able to hear vivid opinions directly from students, parents, and school officials. Moving forward, we will continue to listen to the voices from school sites to develop and implement better educational policies.”
