Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has established the "2nd Basic Plan for Single-Person Households (2025~2029)" to reflect the diverse needs of the increasing number of single-person households and to create a stable living environment.

The district has the highest proportion of single-person households among Seoul's autonomous districts, accounting for 62.6% of all households. This plan focuses on strengthening practical policy support by reflecting these characteristics of the district.

According to the "2022~2024 Regular Public Opinion Survey" conducted by the district, housing welfare and job provision have been identified as the most important policies for single-person households for three consecutive years.

Reflecting these demands, the district has prepared detailed policies to ensure support is provided according to needs.

This basic plan is composed of a total of 48 detailed projects, including 8 major promotion strategies, 18 implementation tasks, and 10 key projects, under the vision of "Gwanak, a happy and inclusive city where even singles are not marginalized."

The 8 major promotion strategies are ▲Strong Foundation ▲Cozy Housing ▲Hopeful Jobs ▲Reliable Safety ▲Meticulous Care ▲Vibrant Health ▲Friendly Relationships ▲Advanced Ecosystem.

The plan also strengthens cooperation not only with the district but also with community service centers and private organizations. First, 21 community service centers will discover one project per single-person household per community reflecting local characteristics, promoting life-centered projects for vulnerable single-person households such as those isolated or reclusive.

Additionally, based on public-private cooperation, various new projects will be added for more detailed support for single-person households, including revitalizing the Single-Person Household Support Center, forming a single-person household council, and operating the Singgeulbungeul Sarangbang and Seoul Mind Convenience Store to activate communication spaces for single-person households.

In particular, to ensure stable living for single-person households, a total budget of 97.7 billion KRW will be invested over five years, with phased policies implemented annually. Based on this plan, the district will strengthen the support system for single-person households and pursue sustainable policies.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, "Through this basic plan for single-person households, we will spare no practical support to make Gwanak a happy and inclusive city where even singles are not marginalized," and added, "We will continue to discover policies reflecting residents' opinions."
