Up to 3.5 Million KRW in Allowances and Incentives for Program Completers

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is recruiting participants for the ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ to assist young people facing difficulties in job searching.

The ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ is a customized program designed to boost the job-seeking motivation and confidence of unemployed youth, supporting their stable entry into the job market. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a participation allowance of up to 3 million KRW along with additional incentives.

This project is being carried out by Mapo-gu after being selected for a public contest organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, securing 516.6 million KRW in national funds and including 72 million KRW from the district budget, with a total project budget of 588.6 million KRW.

Eligible participants include youth aged 18 to 34 who have no employment, education, or vocational training history for more than six months prior to the application date, as well as youth preparing for independence, youth entering or leaving youth welfare facilities, and North Korean defector youth.

The program is divided into short-term (5 weeks), mid-term (15 weeks), and long-term (25 weeks) courses. Key components include intensive counseling, confidence recovery, career exploration, and strengthening employment capabilities, offering various educational and employment support services.

A total of 120 participants will be recruited: 30 for the short-term program, with the application period open until June 30. Participants who complete the program will receive a participation allowance of 500,000 KRW.

Applications can be submitted on the ‘2025 Mapo Youth Challenge’ and ‘Employment 24’ websites on a first-come, first-served basis. For more details, contact the Job Planning Team at the Mapo-gu Employment Welfare Support Center.

A youth participant, Mr. A, who joined last year’s Youth Challenge Support Project, said, "I felt isolated for six months after graduation, but through this support project, I gained employment information and confidence. The company visits related to my job helped me understand practical work. Thanks to this, I won an award in a contest and started an internship related to my job, which greatly helped my job preparation."

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "Through this project, we will actively prepare customized support policies so that young people who have given up on job searching and are isolated can participate in society again. We ask for the active participation of young people facing difficulties in job searching."
