'Everyone's Garden'... Yeongdeungpo-gu to Host Yeouido Spring Flower Festival from April 4 to 8

2024 Yeouido Spring Flower Festival Opening Ceremony

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) will hold the ‘Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival’ from April 4 to April 8 along Yeouiseo-ro Cherry Blossom Road and the area around the National Assembly soccer field by the Han River embankment.

This year’s festival is themed ‘Garden for All.’ The festival grounds will be decorated with cherry blossoms and various flowers and plants that herald spring, allowing visitors to feel as if they are experiencing spring inside a large garden.

On the first day of the festival, April 4, at 5 p.m., instead of an opening ceremony, a ‘Flower Path Walk’ parade featuring residents, people with disabilities, cultural and artistic clubs, and characters from sister cities and partner companies will mark the start of the festival.

During the five-day festival, visitors can enjoy ▲‘Spring Flower Garden’ decorated with flower arches and photo zones at the festival entrance ▲‘Art Garden’ filled with artworks, soothing music, and performances ▲‘Gourmet Garden’ offering various snacks in collaboration with department stores ▲‘Rest Garden’ where visitors can relax on camping chairs while admiring pop-up gardens created by citizen gardeners, allowing them to experience the charm of gardens and spring. Additionally, near Gate 4 of the National Assembly, a ‘Cherry Blossom Road Cafe’ will be operated by win-win companies, youth groups, and volunteer organizations.

To ensure smooth festival operations, traffic will be completely restricted from 12 p.m. on April 2 to 2 p.m. on April 9 on Yeouiseo-ro behind the National Assembly (1.7 km) and the section from the southern end of Seogang Bridge public parking lot to Yeoui Haryu IC.

Prioritizing safety, measures include ▲real-time monitoring with crowd density sensors ▲deployment of disaster buses and drone control ▲intensive crackdowns on illegal street vendors and unauthorized parking ▲ban on electric scooters and bicycles within the event area ▲deployment of safety personnel around Yeouinaru Station, ensuring thorough safety management.

The ‘Yeongdeungpo Spring Flower Sale Festa’ will run from April 1 to April 30, offering discounts at restaurants, cafes, and other local businesses to promote regional coexistence.

To support visitors’ comfortable outings, facilities such as ▲tourist information centers ▲Mom and Dad VIP zones with baby rest areas ▲rental services for strollers, baby wagons, and wheelchairs ▲and a medical situation room will be provided. The ‘Walking with Spring Flowers in the Heart’ program will convey the festival experience to visually impaired visitors through auditory, tactile, and gustatory senses, and performance subtitles will also be supported.
