The Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju has urged the Constitutional Court to make a swift decision to remove President Yoon Sukyeol from office.

On the 12th, the Gwangsan District Council released a statement saying, "By canceling the arrest warrant and the prosecution giving up its appeal, the court and the prosecutors have undermined democracy and the constitutional order," and criticized, "With Yoon Sukyeol's release, citizens are now facing anxiety and fear, even threatening their livelihoods."
The council further stated, "Yoon Sukyeol's act of declaring martial law is a clear and grave violation of the Constitution that warrants removal from the presidency," emphasizing, "The Constitutional Court must immediately deliberate on this matter."
They also pointed out, "Throughout the trial, Yoon Sukyeol and his lawyers have consistently made absurd arguments and shifted responsibility to the opposition party and subordinates," adding, "They are inciting their supporters, justifying insurrection, and dividing the people."
The Gwangsan District Council, representing the just citizens of Gwangsan, demanded the swift normalization of the Republic of Korea and the protection of democracy, calling for ▲ the immediate removal of Yoon Sukyeol by the Constitutional Court ▲ acknowledgment of responsibility and self-reflection by the prosecution.
