Training Session Held for 37 Fruit Growers
Focusing on New Sweet Persimmon Varieties and Blueberry Quality Improvement

Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae), announced on the 12th that it recently held a training session at the Agricultural Technology Center's outdoor hall for 37 fruit growers, focusing on supporting the cultivation of new sweet persimmon varieties and improving blueberry quality.
This training was an essential course for the promotion of projects supporting the cultivation of new sweet persimmon varieties and the improvement of blueberry quality. It was conducted for farmers confirmed for the subsidy project as well as those interested in the field. The sessions were held twice, on the 5th and 7th.
The training on the 5th focused on the characteristics and cultivation techniques of new sweet persimmon varieties, methods for establishing young orchards, tree shaping and pruning, fertilization, and vigor management. The session provided detailed information on the characteristics and breeding plans of the Taechu, Wonchu, and Gampung varieties, which were introduced as new sweet persimmon cultivars, as well as initial management methods and efficient cultivation techniques.
The subsequent training on the 7th centered on the project to improve blueberry quality. It covered the characteristics of different blueberry varieties, selection of suitable cultivation sites, planting methods, water and nutrient management, major pest and disease control, as well as practical information on orchard establishment, such as site preparation, mulching, and planting intervals and methods.
An official from the county stated, "We will do our best to continuously provide education and support projects to increase the income and ensure stable management of fruit farms in the region," adding, "We will continue to make active efforts to help farmers enhance their competitiveness through customized training and systematic support."
