Damyang County Enhances Residents' Quality of Life with Customized Welfare Services

The Damyang-gun Community Social Security Council (Co-Chairs: Jeong Gwangseon and Son Sunyong) announced on the 12th that it had recently reviewed the implementation results of 44 projects under the 2024 Community Social Security Plan.

On this day, the council reviewed 9 strategies, 30 projects, and 14 detailed tasks with the goal of "Damyang, a Happy Rural Welfare Community Together," and selected three outstanding projects to submit the results to Jeollanam-do.

The three projects selected as outstanding this time are the "Establishment and Operation of the Rural Care System," the "Welfare Task Force Project," and the "Integrated Care Service for Seniors with Dementia."

The establishment and operation of the Rural Care System was selected as a "Pilot Project for Integrated Support and Technical Assistance for Seniors and Medical Care," receiving a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare. The Welfare Task Force is evaluated as a highly satisfactory project among residents, as township-level Welfare Task Force members support the stabilization of vulnerable groups' livelihoods by improving residential environments and more.

Additionally, the Integrated Care Service for Seniors with Dementia, promoted through public-private cooperation with the National Health Insurance Service, Damyang Police Station, Damyang-gun Home Care Association, partner medical institutions, dementia-overcoming leading organizations and safe partner stores, and taxi companies, achieved recognition as an outstanding institution in dementia management in Jeollanam-do.

Son Sunyong, the co-chair, stated, "During this review, we checked the achievements according to the tasks for the development of community social security to enhance the effectiveness of welfare policies tailored to the region, and examined the establishment of local governance and the expansion of the foundation. We will continue to actively reflect the opinions of the residents in establishing the community social security plan and promote effective welfare policies that satisfy the citizens."
