On the 12th, the Gwangju Bar Association issued a statement saying, "The Constitutional Court must make a swift and resolute decision on impeachment to quell public anxiety and confusion and to restore constitutional order."

This statement was released to mark the 100th day since the December 3 martial law declaration and the outbreak of the rebellion. The association stated, "The people have longed for the restoration of constitutional order, stood up against the martial law forces with their own bodies, and continue to stay awake through the nights," adding, "However, the Seoul Central District Court's decision to revoke President Yoon Suk-yeol's detention and the prosecution's decision not to file an immediate appeal have only heightened public anxiety."

The association further emphasized, "If repeated hearings have confirmed that there is ample reason for impeachment, the Constitutional Court must fulfill its original duty as the final bastion protecting the Constitution and democracy of the Republic of Korea."

The Gwangju Bar Association highlighted that the Republic of Korea is a democratic nation inheriting the spirit of the March 1st Movement, the April 19 Revolution, and the May 18 Democratization Movement, and urged, "The Constitutional Court must immediately impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol and let the world know that democracy in Korea has been further strengthened by the power of awakened citizens."
