Shinan County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Park Wooriang) announced on the 12th that Philip Alexander Halkvist, the Charg? d’Affaires of the Embassy of Denmark in Korea, paid an official visit on the 10th and had a meaningful time viewing the work "The Breathing Earth" by world-renowned Danish installation artist Olafur Eliasson.

"The Breathing Earth" is recognized as a piece that sheds light on the relationship between nature and humanity, raising awareness of environmental protection and climate change. During this visit, the Danish charg? d’affaires in Korea experienced the meaning and message of the work firsthand.

On this day, the charg? d’affaires toured the enchanting garden harmonized with hackberry trees and hydrangeas, the filming location of the movie "The Book of Fish," which depicts the life of Jeong Yakjeon, Simok Beach, and the hydrangea garden. He also attended a meeting with local residents in Dochomyeon and expressed his gratitude for their warm hospitality.

The charg? d’affaires stated, "I was deeply impressed by the beautiful nature of Dochodo, the village with its unique landscape created by cobalt blue roofs, and the work 'The Breathing Earth.'"

Governor Park Wooriang said, "The visit of the Danish charg? d’affaires has elevated the cultural and artistic status of Shinan County," and added, "We hope that, in connection with the upcoming Hydrangea Festival in June, even more tourists will come to see 'The Breathing Earth.'"
