Fast Charging Time to 80%
Reduced from 47 Minutes to 32 Minutes
Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 12th that it has launched the '2025 Porter II Electric,' which reduces fast charging time compared to previous models and increases driving range per charge.
Hyundai improved the charging speed, which was one of the main complaints about the Porter II Electric, by about 30%. By increasing the thickness of the high-voltage cable wiring to boost the charging current, the fast charging time from 10% to 80% battery capacity, which previously took 47 minutes, was significantly reduced to 32 minutes.
The 60.4 kWh lithium-ion high-voltage battery applied to the Porter II Electric uses new battery cells with improved energy density and lightweight design compared to previous models. This increased the driving range per charge to 217 km, 6 km longer than the previous model.
Additionally, the 2025 Porter II Electric raised the battery ground clearance by 10 mm to eliminate inconvenience caused by the low placement of the battery when driving on unpaved roads, and added LED lighting above the charging port to ensure visibility during nighttime charging.
To secure price competitiveness, Hyundai introduced an economical trim called 'Style Special' for the 2025 Porter II Electric.
The Style Special trim includes some rationalized features such as ▲clear glass ▲unpainted black outside mirrors with heating and power adjustment ▲cargo bed rust prevention sealer ▲tilt steering wheel (without heating) ▲driver’s reclining and sliding seat (without heating), and is priced 1.35 million KRW lower than the 'Smart Special' trim.
The selling prices for the 2025 Porter II Electric are ▲Style Special 43.25 million KRW ▲Smart Special 44.6 million KRW ▲Premium Special 46.2 million KRW.
Meanwhile, Hyundai launched a dedicated customer care program called 'EV Biz Care' to coincide with the release of the 2025 Porter II Electric. Through EV Biz Care, Porter electric vehicle owners can receive 500,000 credits, a 7 kW home charger, and choose between 200,000 credits or a charging cable.
In addition, Hyundai offers the 'Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Program,' which provides up to 10 billion KRW in support in case of fire damage, the 'Blue Safety Inspection' that provides an annual safety check for 10 years after delivery, and the 'EV Charging Solution,' which includes a dedicated Porter II Electric charging subscription plan and on-demand charging service.
A Hyundai official said, "Equipped with faster charging speed, practicality, safety, and excellent product quality, the 2025 Porter II Electric is expected to provide customers with significantly expanded business opportunities."
