11.55 Billion Won Invested
Support Available Until Budget Runs Out
Damyang County in Jeollanam-do has launched various support initiatives to create a clean and blue sky free of fine dust and provide a pleasant living environment for its residents.
On the 11th, Damyang County announced that it will implement a support project for the installation of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and a project to support the replacement of old construction machinery engines.
The eligible recipients are construction machines registered in Damyang as of the announcement date (March 11, 2025). Engine replacement applies to forklifts, excavators, rollers, and loaders manufactured before 2004 with Tier-1 or lower engines (before 2005 for those with 75kw~130kw, and before 2006 for those under 75kw). DPF installation is targeted at diesel vehicles with emission grade 5.
The construction machinery engine replacement project covers the full cost of the device with no personal expense, while the DPF installation support project requires the applicant to cover 10~12.5% of the device cost. It is important to note that if the device is removed or deregistered within the mandatory two-year operation period, the subsidy may be reclaimed.
Applications for the projects are accepted from the 11th until the budget is exhausted, and can be submitted through the 'Comprehensive Automobile Emissions Information System.' If online application is difficult, applicants can visit the Damyang County Environmental Department or apply via registered mail. For more details, refer to the official announcement posted on the county website or contact the Climate Change Response Team of the Damyang County Environmental Department.
A county official stated, "We expect that replacing old engines in forklifts and excavators with new ones will help reduce both fine dust and nitrogen oxides," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create a pleasant and safe environment."
