Exploring Ways to Apply AI in Administration, Welfare, and Disaster Management

On the 7th, Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, visited three AI startup companies?Minglecon, NeoEnterDX, and MaumAI?located in Pangyo to take steps toward AI-based administrative innovation.

According to Goyang Special City on the 11th, Minglecon and NeoEnterDX are startup companies residing in the Startup Campus Digital Open Lab. Founded in December 2022, they are developing convergence content combined with artificial intelligence.
MaumAI, established in 2014, has continuously developed and was listed on the KOSDAQ market in 2021. The company develops AI solutions across various fields.
During the meeting with the startup representatives, topics discussed included △local government support and efforts necessary for AI companies to grow △environmental conditions required for establishing startup companies △the current level and future prospects of AI technology.
In particular, Mayor Lee focused on asking about AI technologies that could be integrated into the administration of Goyang Special City.
Meanwhile, the city is continuing bold initiatives to create a ‘Digital Wellness City’ through the public adoption of smart technologies, including △ChatGPT education for public officials to utilize AI in the public sector △proactive responses to the evolving AI industry △establishment of an AI Innovation TF team for the introduction of AI in public administration, thereby fostering an innovative AI industry ecosystem.
In line with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s AI Transformation (AX) project, which applies AI across all corporate activities such as planning, development, production, and sales, the city plans to apply AI throughout public administration as well.
Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, expressed strong determination, stating, “We will actively seek ways to utilize AI in public sectors such as administration, welfare, and disaster management to create an innovative AI industry ecosystem with a new paradigm in Goyang Special City.”
