Pocheon City Decides to Provide Emergency Disaster Basic Income
Nogok 2-ri and 3-ri Residents and Other Victims Included
Applications Accepted from the 13th to the 21st
Number of Civilian Victims Increases by 5 to 24
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 11th that it will proactively provide disaster basic income to ensure the livelihood stability and guarantee the basic rights of residents affected by the accidental bombing by an Air Force fighter jet that occurred on the 6th.
The recipients are those registered as residents in Pocheon City from the day before the accidental bombing by the Air Force fighter jet on the 6th until the application date, including △ those registered in Nogok 2-ri and Nogok 3-ri, Idong-myeon, Pocheon City (including registered foreigners and overseas Koreans) △ those who suffered physical damage due to the Air Force fighter jet accidental bombing △ those who suffered property damage due to the Air Force fighter jet accidental bombing (limited to one owner per property).
However, in the case of those who suffered property damage due to the Air Force fighter jet accidental bombing, payment will be decided after deliberation by the Disaster Basic Income Committee.
Applications can be submitted by the head of household or household members at the Nogok 2-ri and 3-ri village halls or the Idong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center from the 13th to the 21st.
The city will pay 1 million KRW per person in cash to their bank accounts as soon as the application review is completed. The required budget is 1.17 billion KRW, which will be spent from the disaster contingency funds.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “We have decided to provide emergency disaster basic income to ensure practical support for the affected residents. We hope this will offer some comfort to the residents who have suffered great wounds, and Pocheon City will continue to do its best to help residents quickly recover their daily lives.”
The number of civilian injuries and property damage caused by the accidental bombing has increased.
The number of civilian injuries counted by Pocheon City on this day was 24, an increase of 5 from the previous day (19). Among them, 7 are hospitalized and receiving treatment at the Armed Forces Capital Hospital (5), Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital (1), and Pocheon Woori Hospital (1). Including 14 injured soldiers from nearby units, the total number of injured is 38.
Property damage was also counted at 166 cases, 14 more than on the 10th.
The types of damage include 163 cases of building damage (2 completely destroyed, 161 partially damaged) and 3 vehicle cases. The number of displaced persons (13 households, 25 people) remains unchanged. It is understood that 4 households (10 people) are staying at Hanwha Condo, 6 households (10 people) at motels, and 3 households (5 people) at relatives’ homes. Pocheon City will conduct damage investigations until the 18th, including detailed safety inspections for buildings that suffered significant damage.
