Jeonnam Development Corporation announced on the 11th that it has set the goal of achieving a "zero-accident workplace in 2025" and, as the first step, conducted a safety audit during the thawing season for all its workplaces.

The safety audit is a system designed to identify potential risk factors, establish and implement sustainable improvement and management measures, and ensure semi-permanent safety actions through follow-up monitoring of the results. According to the corporation, the effectiveness of this system has been proven, as there were no recurrences of the risk factors identified last year.

This safety audit was led by the Safety Audit Office, which formed an internal inspection team consisting of experts from the Public Architecture Project Department. The audit was conducted jointly with related organizations such as Gwangju Metropolitan City Urban Corporation and the Korea Safety Management Association.

In particular, the audit focused on inspecting vulnerabilities during the thawing season, including ground subsidence, cracks in stone retaining walls and embankments, the slope of cut and fill surfaces, installation of temporary structures such as earth retaining supports, and drainage facilities and rockfall prevention measures. Any risk factors discovered will be promptly addressed and subject to follow-up monitoring.

Jang Chungmo, CEO of Jeonnam Development Corporation, stated, "During the thawing season, the risk of major accidents such as ground subsidence and structural deformation is high, making thorough inspections and preventive measures essential." He added, "We will continue to strengthen safety management to prevent accidents in advance and ensure the safety of workers and residents."
