Reflecting Residents' Voices,
Prioritizing Maintenance in Densely Populated Areas
Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province will launch its first-half river maintenance project from March 10 to June 10, aiming to protect the lives and property of residents from natural disasters such as heavy rainfall and typhoons, and to maintain the smooth function of local rivers.

This river maintenance project targets local rivers and small streams within the county and includes processes such as river dredging, embankment reinforcement, and removal of obstacles within the river.
Through these efforts, the county plans to ensure smooth water flow and reduce the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall, thereby preventing disasters.
In particular, this river maintenance project will prioritize areas closely related to residents' daily lives, as suggested by local residents during the "2025 Residents' Dialogue Day," which was promoted as part of open communication governance. Accordingly, the project is expected to address even the finer details that were previously overlooked, alleviating residents' inconveniences and providing more effective measures for preventing natural disasters during the rainy season.
County Governor Yoon Kyunghee said, "Through this first-half river maintenance project, we will prevent the risks of floods and disasters and create a safe river environment," adding, "We will continue to do our best through ongoing inspections and maintenance so that residents can live with peace of mind."
