Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 11th that its 'Overseas Travel Insurance Gifting' service is gaining high popularity.
Overseas Travel Insurance Gifting is a service Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance first introduced in the industry last November. In a customer survey conducted in January, 85% of users expressed satisfaction with the service. 100% of respondents said they would be willing to gift insurance to others again in the future. The positive response was due to the fact that it is not simply about subscribing to insurance, but also about conveying wishes for the recipient’s safety along with various message cards.
55% of all users were parents gifting insurance to their 20s and 30s children before travel. This is interpreted as many young people having little experience with insurance subscriptions and feeling financial burdens. Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance’s overseas travel insurance covers not only injuries and illnesses during overseas travel but also flight delays and cancellations, loss of personal belongings, and rescue and repatriation costs in case of serious accidents during travel, ensuring travel safety.
Additionally, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance expanded its product lineup last month by launching the ‘Golf Insurance Gifting’ service. This service covers hole-in-one expenses up to 2 million KRW. It includes coverage for the insured’s injuries as well as liability for damages to others during golf. It can be gifted not only as a one-day pass but also as a season pass ranging from 1 month to 12 months, providing a practical option for golfers.
A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance representative said, “Insurance is not just a financial product but a means to convey wishes and care for safety,” adding, “We plan to lead a new insurance culture by launching various products that allow insurance gifting.”
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance plans to launch ‘One-Day Auto Insurance Gifting’ and ‘Companion-Type Golf Insurance Gifting,’ which allows companions playing rounds together to subscribe at once, within this month.
