Residents Unite to Stress the Need for GTX-B Stop
A Venue for Traditional Games and Community Harmony

At the outdoor stage of Cheongchun Station 1979 in Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, a performance urging the GTX-B line to stop at Cheongpyeong Station drew attention during the '2025 Cheongpyeong-myeon Traditional Folk Game Competition (Cheoksadaehoe)' held on the 8th.

According to Gapyeong-gun on the 11th, key figures including County Governor Seo Taewon, Chairman Kim Kyungsoo and members of the Gapyeong County Council, and Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member Lim Kwanghyun attended the event, experiencing various traditional games such as Yutnori, rice cake pounding, and Tuho with residents to promote harmony. In particular, through the performance, residents emphasized the necessity of the GTX-B line stopping at Cheongpyeong Station and agreed to continue active efforts to attract it.


Hosted and organized by the Cheongpyeong-myeon Village Chief Association and sponsored by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Cheongpyeong Hydroelectric Power Plant, this competition was held as an opportunity to foster friendship among residents and inherit traditional culture. Participants shared affection across generations by competing in Yutnori and experiencing traditional rice cake making.


Jo Dooyoung, head of Cheongpyeong-myeon, said, “This Cheoksadaehoe was not just a simple folk game event but a meaningful time for residents to come together,” adding, “I hope interest and efforts for the GTX-B line to stop at Cheongpyeong Station will continue.”
