Kim Dong-geun: “Voluntary Inspection System for Narcotics Handling Facilities to Be Implemented in Uijeongbu”
Self-Inspection Checklists Distributed to 242 Medical Institutions and Animal Hospitals
Mayor Kim Emphasizes Efforts to Prevent Narcotics-Related Incidents and Ensure Citizen Safety
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 11th that it will conduct the ‘Voluntary Inspection System for Narcotics Handling Facilities’ from the 10th to the 28th.
The Voluntary Inspection System for Narcotics Handling Facilities is a program that distributes self-inspection checklists to 242 medical institutions (including animal hospitals) handling narcotics, helping them to self-check and improve compliance with related regulations.
The main contents of the self-inspection checklist itemize the legal obligations stipulated in the ‘Narcotics Control Act,’ allowing verification of the adequacy of storage facilities, inventory management, and handling reports. If any abnormalities occur during the inspection, facilities are encouraged to immediately report to the public health center to prevent narcotics-related incidents or enable early response.
Additionally, the city will collect all self-inspection checklists to review the inspection results and promptly guide the relevant facilities on necessary improvements or training. If needed, on-site inspections will also be conducted concurrently.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “Recognizing the seriousness of narcotics-related incidents that harm citizens’ health, we are implementing a voluntary inspection system for medical institutions and animal hospitals, where medical narcotics are most commonly circulated, to prevent such incidents. We will continue to do our best to create a safe Uijeongbu for our citizens.”
