According to Paju City on the 11th, the on-site visit was attended by Deputy Mayor Choi Byung-gap, heads of related departments, and representatives from construction companies. They toured the Economic Free Zone, Paju Medical Cluster, Unjeong Technovalley, and U.S. military return land in sequence to inspect the progress and discuss future directions.
In particular, regarding the Economic Free Zone, since Gyeonggi Province is currently conducting a public contest evaluation to select additional candidate sites, Deputy Mayor Choi urged all efforts to be made to ensure selection in the contest. Additionally, for projects currently under construction, he emphasized thorough preparation to prevent accidents during the thaw season and to do their best to avoid any incidents.
Paju City is actively promoting large-scale projects such as ▲designation of the Economic Free Zone ▲development of the Paju Medical Cluster ▲development of Unjeong Technovalley ▲industrial complex development ▲development of U.S. military return land to achieve one of the three major administrative goals of the 8th elected administration, "rapid entry into a self-sufficient city of one million."
Deputy Mayor Choi Byung-gap stated, “Paju is a city with sufficient growth potential, along with LG Display, Unjeong New Town, and the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX)-A.” He added, “Large-scale development projects will serve as a key driving force for sustainable urban development by strengthening the city’s self-sufficiency functions along with population inflow, improving residential conditions, and creating quality jobs.”
