Gangjin County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jinwon) announced that during the 53rd Gangjin Celadon Festival, a local business revitalization event held for five days at Gangjin-eup Market resulted in local stores achieving sales of approximately 124 million KRW.
According to the county on the 11th, the event was aimed at revitalizing the local economy. During the festival, participants who submitted card payment receipts for purchases of 100,000 KRW or more within the county were entered into a drawing to win Gangjin Love Gift Certificates worth from 10,000 KRW up to 30,000 KRW, or Gangjin store products valued at 50,000 KRW.

Participant A, a county resident, said, "After shopping at a store in Gangjin-eup, I happened to join the business revitalization event and was delighted to unexpectedly win a great prize (a blanket). I enjoyed both taking part in the event and visiting the festival, which doubled my enjoyment."
The prizes distributed as Gangjin store products included blankets, sports equipment, and cosmetics, which were purchased from local businesses such as fabric shops and sporting goods stores that had been experiencing sluggish sales.
The event saw a total of 861 entries, with approximately 12 million KRW in gift certificates distributed and 272 Gangjin store products awarded. The total expenditure recorded on receipts submitted for the event amounted to around 124 million KRW, generating an economic ripple effect nearly ten times the value of the distributed gift certificates.
According to regional statistics of event participants, 90% were Gangjin residents and 10% were from outside the county, indicating a significantly higher participation rate among locals. Analysis of receipt usage showed that restaurants ranked first at 34%, followed by retail and wholesale businesses (such as marts) at 30%, and clothing stores at 14%.
Governor Kang Jinwon stated, "I am very pleased that this event helped stimulate local consumption and invigorate our local businesses. We will continue to promote various policies and events to further revitalize the local economy."
