Announcement of Selected Organizations and Companies by the Free Economic Zone Authority
The organizations responsible for conducting safety inspections for construction projects in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone have been selected. When an on-site safety inspection is required, one of these organizations will be designated for the task.
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Seongho) announced on the 11th that it has designated 54 organizations to carry out safety inspections.
The Authority designates safety inspection organizations for construction projects where safety inspections are mandatory under the Construction Technology Promotion Act, including: ▲Type 1 and 2 facilities (as defined by the Special Act on the Safety Control and Maintenance of Facilities), ▲excavation works deeper than 10 meters underground, ▲construction projects using specific construction machinery such as drilling rigs and pile drivers, and ▲construction of buildings with 10 to less than 16 floors.
The recruitment of safety inspection organizations was conducted through a public application process from February 10 to March 4. After document verification and a review for disqualifications, a final total of 54 organizations were selected.
Over the next year, when safety inspections are required for construction projects within the zone, the Authority plans to evaluate the business capability and bid prices of the interested organizations among the 54 and designate the actual performing organization accordingly.
Commissioner Park Seongho stated, "Safety management in construction projects is the most important factor, and through these safety inspection organizations, we will establish a systematic and thorough safety management system. We will prioritize on-site safety and focus our efforts on accident prevention."
