KTO and Kakao Mobility Introduce Pet-Friendly Destinations
Utilizing Kakao Navigation Data

To celebrate International Dog Day (March 23), the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and Kakao Mobility have released the "Daengdaeng Travel Map," featuring 10 recommended spring travel destinations where you can enjoy time with your pets.

The selected 10 locations include major attractions nationwide such as ▲Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex (Gyeongbuk Gyeongju) ▲Suseong Lake Amusement Park (Daegu) ▲Ocheon Green Plaza (Jeonnam Suncheon) ▲Iksan Prison Set (Jeonbuk Iksan), among others. By clicking on each destination on the map, users can access tourism information, visit ratios by day of the week, and the top 3 popular nearby spots ideal for visiting with pets.

The Daengdaeng Travel Map was created using the KTO’s selected "100 Pet Tourism Resources" and Kakao Navi’s navigation data from the past year (February 2024 to January 2025). The popular nearby spots were identified by analyzing Kakao Navi movement data from March to May of last year, considering seasonal factors.

The Daengdaeng Travel Map is available on the KTO-operated domestic travel information platform "Korea Travel Easy" as well as on the Kakao T and Kakao Navi applications.

Lee Sang-min, Director of the KTO’s National Tourism Office, stated, “This map was created to provide customized travel information in response to the growing demand for pet-friendly travel,” adding, “The KTO will continue to offer useful content aligned with trends through private sector collaboration.”
