The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is establishing the "2025 Suwon Gender-Responsive Statistics" to be used as basic data for promoting gender equality policies.
On the 10th, Suwon held the "2025 Suwon Gender-Responsive Statistics Research Service Kick-off Meeting" at the city hall video conference room. The Suwon City Policy Research Institute will conduct the research until August.
Gender-responsive statistics refer to all statistical data produced and presented to reflect the conditions and social contributions of women and men, as well as the needs and specific issues of both genders.
They show unequal phenomena caused by gender in various aspects of society and include all statistics created to alleviate and eliminate such inequalities.

Gender-responsive statistics are essential indicators for designation as a women-friendly city and must be produced periodically. Suwon compiled the first gender-responsive statistics in 2014, the second in 2017, and the third in 2022.
Suwon plans to establish and implement gender equality policies tailored to the characteristics of the Suwon region by utilizing the statistical data.
The project period is until November 30 after the agreement is signed, and the application period is until the 8th of next month. Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi-do R&D Project Management System (pms.gbsa.or.kr).
