Focused Investment in Livelihood Economy Recovery and Regional Infrastructure Expansion
Park Seung-won: "Addressing Both Present and Future Challenges"
Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province will allocate an additional budget of 116.9 billion KRW to support the recovery of the local economy and expand regional infrastructure.
On the 11th, Gwangmyeong City announced that it submitted the second supplementary budget proposal for this year to the city council, which includes these details. The scale of this second supplementary budget is 1.2773 trillion KRW, an increase of 116.9 billion KRW (10.1%) compared to the first supplementary budget of 1.1604 trillion KRW.
Earlier, in January, the city had prepared a supplementary budget of 29.5 billion KRW to provide a "Livelihood Stabilization Support Fund" of 100,000 KRW in local currency per citizen.
The city explained that this supplementary budget also focuses on "recovering the livelihood economy," including strengthening jobs, supporting small business owners, and boosting household economies. Additionally, the budget will be invested in strengthening infrastructure in leisure, economy, and urban sectors for sustainable development.
Specifically, the budget includes ▲Youth and New Middle-aged Job Projects (1.2 billion KRW) ▲Jobs for the Disabled Project (150 million KRW) ▲Startup Promotion (200 million KRW) ▲Social Economy Regional Revitalization Projects (240 million KRW).
Along with these, budgets were allocated for ▲Public Delivery App Support Project (150 million KRW) ▲Senior Citizens' Social Activity Expenses (100 million KRW) ▲Childcare Support (60 million KRW) ▲Children's School Commute Safety Project (25 million KRW) ▲Support for Disabled Activities (4.07 billion KRW) ▲Support for Vocational Rehabilitation Facilities for the Disabled (360 million KRW). To reduce household transportation costs, 6.8 billion KRW will be invested in the ▲Public Transportation Cost Support Project.
For expanding leisure facilities, budgets were allocated for ▲Yeonghwanwon Waterfront Park Development (21.9 billion KRW) ▲Anyangcheon Local Garden Development (2.5 billion KRW) ▲Gahaksan Neighborhood Park Development (3.15 billion KRW) ▲Woori Children's Park Improvement Construction (900 million KRW) ▲Cheolmangsan Neighborhood Park Maintenance (600 million KRW) ▲Keirin Track Trail Development (600 million KRW).
To secure new growth engines, the city will also promote ▲Social Economy Innovation Center Construction (4.2 billion KRW) and ▲Smart Farm Development (500 million KRW).
In addition, in the urban infrastructure sector, budgets were allocated for ▲Cheolsan 4-dong Life Culture Welfare Center Family Center Construction (1 billion KRW) ▲Haan Cheolgol Parking Lot Reconstruction (2.7 billion KRW) ▲Public Land Acquisition (2.8 billion KRW) ▲Road Maintenance and Facility Safety Inspection (1.2 billion KRW) ▲Installation of Underground Road Entry Blocking Facilities (1 billion KRW) ▲Pedestrian Environment Improvement (300 million KRW).
Park Seung-won, mayor of Gwangmyeong City, said, "This supplementary budget focuses on the urgent recovery of the livelihood economy and the strengthening of regional infrastructure, which requires steady investment and sustainability."
The supplementary budget proposal will be finalized on the 19th after deliberation at the city council's extraordinary session starting on the 13th.
