Discussing Strategies for 2025 Public Project and Evaluation Responses
Number of Selected Public Projects Increased by About 16% Compared to 2023, Selection Rate Rose by 3.5 Percentage Points
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) held the '2025 External Public Project and External Institution Evaluation Promotion Report Meeting' on the 10th to secure external funding and strengthen the district's external status.
This report meeting was organized as a forum for district executives to analyze last year's achievements and discuss strategies for responding to public projects and external evaluations this year.
Last year, the district was selected for 96 public projects across various administrative fields, securing a total project budget of 27.1 billion KRW.
This result came from a systematic preliminary review of the validity and effectiveness of public projects. Compared to 2023, the number of selected public projects increased by about 16%, from 83 to 96, and the selection rate rose by 3.5 percentage points, from 70.3% to 73.8%, showing tangible achievements.
In particular, the district secured a significant budget for projects directly related to residents' daily lives, such as ▲ urban environment and traffic improvement ▲ startup and local commercial district revitalization ▲ cultural activity support, which is expected to contribute to improving residents' quality of life.
The district also achieved remarkable results in external institution evaluations. It received the Minister's Award for the 'National Local Government Job Awards' for three consecutive years, achieved the highest grade (S) in the 'Government Joint Evaluation' for two consecutive years, and recorded a total of 55 awards over the past year, gaining external recognition for its administrative capabilities.
Thus, during the 8th elected term, the district secured a total of 195.8 billion KRW in external funding through ▲ external public projects ▲ external institution evaluations ▲ special grants ▲ special subsidies, establishing a solid financial foundation for promoting major policy projects.
This year, the district plans to actively discover new public projects linked with central government and Seoul city policies, participate in various external institution evaluations including overseas evaluations based on innovative and excellent policies, and widely promote administrative excellence.
Additionally, the district will implement a focused public project strategy centered on the 8th elected term's pledges and current issues to fully concentrate on securing finances. It will also strengthen the employee reward system to encourage active participation and expand employee capacity-building education.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, "Securing external funding is essential to overcome low financial independence," and added, "We will do our best this year to respond to public projects and external evaluations so that the active efforts of our employees can translate into tangible benefits for residents."
