The internet monitoring site 'Downdetector' reported that users from most countries, including the US, the UK, France, India, Australia, Argentina, and Japan, submitted complaints about being unable to access the X service.

In the US, between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., up to 20,000 users reported being unable to use the X service, and between 8 a.m. and noon, the number rose to a maximum of 40,000 users.

Japan also saw a similar pattern, with up to 70,000 and 40,000 reports submitted during similar time frames.

Bloomberg News reported that the X site was down twice on that day, each outage lasting several minutes before service was restored.

At 1:25 p.m. that day, CEO Musk posted on X, stating, "There was a large-scale cyberattack on X (still ongoing)," and explained, "We face attacks daily, but this time a lot of resources were mobilized."

He added, "A large, organized group or a nation is involved," and said, "We are tracking it."
