Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun Receives Diplomatic Medal from Czech Republic (Comprehensive)

Czech Ambassador to Korea Jan??rek Announces on Social Media

Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, received a diplomatic medal from the Czech Republic.


According to Ivan Jan??rek, the Czech Ambassador to Korea, on the 10th, he awarded the diplomatic medal to Chairman Chung on behalf of Jan Lipavsk?, the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs. He added that the medal was presented to commend Chairman Chung's contributions to diplomacy between the two countries.

At the event, Chairman Chung was accompanied by Hyundai Motor President Sung Kim and Vice President Kim Il-beom. Ambassador Jan??rek stated, "I am very honored to present the medal on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs," and "I sincerely congratulate and thank Chairman Chung for his remarkable activities."


Hyundai Motor has been operating the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) plant in the Nosovice industrial zone, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic, since September 2009. The plant has an annual production capacity of 330,000 units, manufacturing the Kona Electric, i30, and Tucson models.


The Hyundai Motor Czech plant is well-known for prioritizing the environment during its construction. Over 1,000 trees that existed in the construction area were relocated before construction began and were restored to their original locations after completion.
