‘Girl’s Girl Charity Party’ Held
The Namyangju City Disabled Welfare Center (Director Kim So-young) in Gyeonggi announced on the 10th that it held a charity event called the ‘Girl’s girl Charity Party’ on the 9th at the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center indoor gymnasium, where women with developmental disabilities and the local community came together.

About 300 local residents who love Zumba dance attended the event, where domestic and international Zumba dance masters, including instructor Erika, and Zumba dance students from the Namyangju City Disabled Welfare Center performed together on stage.
In particular, four students from the welfare center’s lifelong learning program for people with disabilities took the stage to perform directly, creating a meaningful time where people with and without disabilities participated together.
The proceeds from the event (approximately 20 million KRW from ticket sales) and funds raised through sponsorships were donated to the Namyangju City Disabled Welfare Center and the international NGO G Foundation. The donations will be used to support cultural and leisure activities for women with developmental disabilities and to provide hygiene, medical, and educational support for low-income children and adolescents.
Director Kim So-young said, “This event was a precious opportunity for women with developmental disabilities to showcase their abilities on stage and feel a sense of accomplishment. We will continue to expand opportunities for lifelong learning participation for people with disabilities so that more people can gain confidence through cultural and artistic activities.”
Mayor Joo Kwang-deok of Namyangju, who attended the event, said, “Today’s charity party was a meaningful occasion where people with and without disabilities came together and communicated. I thank instructor Erika for expanding cultural and sports activity opportunities for people with disabilities through Zumba dance.” He added, “Namyangju City will continue to strive to create an inclusive society where everyone can participate together.”
