Installation of Enclosed Booths
and Expansion of Interior Space
POSCO Pohang Steelworks has begun extensive renovations on 14 outdated bus stops to provide employees with a comfortable and safe commuting environment.
The existing old bus stops, with their open structure, caused significant inconvenience for employees waiting for buses during extremely hot or cold seasons.
In response, Pohang Steelworks plans to actively gather feedback from employees to create a comfortable and cozy commuting environment throughout all four seasons.
Since 2022, Pohang Steelworks has been gradually implementing a project to improve outdated bus stops, and this year, the company aims to further enhance the quality of the facilities by reflecting more employee feedback.
Through this project, automatic doors with proven windproof and waterproof features will be installed, and the waiting area will be expanded from the current 33 square meters to 66 square meters to accommodate high usage.
Additionally, heating, cooling, and lighting facilities will be installed to provide a comfortable environment regardless of weather or time of day.
Pohang Steelworks will also remove bus stops with low usage and install new stops in areas with high demand but no existing facilities, undertaking a comprehensive reorganization to improve convenience and accessibility for employees.
Heo Jun, leader of the Administrative Support Group, said, "Through this project, we hope employees can feel happiness in their everyday commuting routines," adding, "We will continue to listen to employees' voices and strive to provide a better working environment."
Pohang Steelworks plans to continue its efforts across various areas, including renovating outdated facilities and fostering a positive organizational culture, with the goal of creating a workplace where all employees are happy.
