The police have launched a compulsory investigation into a community used by doctors and medical students.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit announced that they have been conducting a search and seizure at the office of the doctors' community 'Medistaff' since around 1:30 PM on the 10th on suspicion of aiding illegal posts.
The police are investigating whether Medistaff aided the medical blacklist incident that occurred last year.
The medical blacklist incident involved the distribution of personal information of doctors who did not participate in collective medical actions or who returned to work, on the Medistaff bulletin board.
Civil groups such as the Committee for the People's Livelihood Measures (Seominwi) filed a complaint against Medistaff CEO Ki Dong-hoon last September for violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, incitement, and obstruction of business.
A police official stated, "We plan to strictly investigate similar illegal activities online in the future."
