Jangheung Police Chief Presents Letter of Appreciation
to CCTV Monitoring Officer
Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 10th that a monitoring officer working at the CCTV Integrated Control Center received a letter of appreciation from the Chief of Jangheung Police Station for playing a significant role in the swift apprehension of a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.
The officer at the Jangheung County CCTV Integrated Control Center, in cooperation with the Jangheung Police Station's investigation, quickly monitored and secured key evidence such as the suspect vehicle's license plate after the hit-and-run incident on the 2nd.

In particular, by closely analyzing the expected escape route, the officer played a decisive role in identifying the location of the suspect driver within five minutes of the incident.
On the 7th, Park Heungwon, Chief of Jangheung Police Station, visited the Jangheung County CCTV Integrated Control Center and presented a letter of appreciation to the monitoring officer who contributed to the apprehension of the hit-and-run vehicle, expressing his encouragement and gratitude.
Additionally, the Jangheung County CCTV Integrated Control Center contributed to solving cases by providing video information for a total of 308 cases last year, including traffic accidents, theft, violence, and missing persons.
Governor Kim Sung stated, "Currently, 16 CCTV monitoring officers are working in four shifts around the clock, 365 days a year, providing real-time monitoring," and added, "We will do our best to create a safer Jangheung County through swift response and monitoring."
