Jangheung-gun to Hold 'Citizen's Day and Borim Cultural Festival' on the 30th of Next Month

Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do (County Governor Kim Sung) will hold the 55th Jangheung County Residents' Day and Borim Cultural Festival on the 29th and 30th of next month at the Tamjingang Riverside and the Public Stadium.

According to the county on the 10th, this year's Jangheung County Residents' Day and Borim Cultural Festival will be held as an outdoor event in accordance with the biennial event policy. Considering that May 1st, the original date for Residents' Day, is also Labor Day, the event date was changed to April 30th to encourage active participation from local organizations and residents.

On the 29th of next month, a preliminary event will be held at the Tamjingang Riverside, featuring the Nobel Literature City Vision Proclamation Ceremony and a celebratory performance to heighten the atmosphere. On the 30th, a variety of programs will take place, including a parade of towns and organizations through the city center, the presentation of the County Resident Award, celebratory events, a demonstration of Gossaum tug-of-war, and nine competitions (Ssireum wrestling, volleyball, group jump rope, ring toss, rolling the hoop, 600m relay, rolling the big ball, local food contest, and singing contest).

This year, the Borim Cultural Festival will organize the 10 towns into 5 teams for athletic competitions, aiming to foster unity among residents and promote community development.

Kim Sung, the county governor, said, "This year's Jangheung County Residents' Day event is being prepared to solidify our Nobel Literature City brand while providing a venue for unity and communication among all residents," and added, "I hope many residents will participate to enhance their pride as members of Jangheung and create precious memories."
