The First Step in Proclaiming 2025 as the Inaugural Year of Yeoju Tourism

Presided over by Ko Jae-yong, Director of the Culture and Welfare Bureau, this report meeting included a briefing on the basic plan by the Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation, which organizes the festival. In accordance with the promotion schedule, the meeting proceeded with reports on cooperation plans from related departments of Yeoju City Hall to ensure smooth preparation, followed by discussions on suggestions and additional consultation matters.
The 37th Yeoju Ceramic Festival will be held for 11 days from May 1 to 11 at the Silleuksa Tourist Site under the theme "Enjoy Spring, Jagiya, the Yegang River is Rippling." Especially, it will open with the proclamation of 2025 as the inaugural year of Yeoju tourism, marking the first event of a new beginning for Yeoju tourism, and is planned as a festival enjoyed by all generations.
Yeoju City and the Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation plan to maintain a solid cooperative system for the successful hosting of the festival, promoting regional tourism revitalization through various means such as developing diverse content, maintaining tourist site infrastructure, promoting the festival through various media, and providing convenience for visitors. Additionally, interim and final report meetings will be held before the festival to conduct continuous progress checks and exchange opinions.
Ko Jae-yong, Director of the Culture and Welfare Bureau, stated, “This year marks 2025 as the inaugural year of Yeoju tourism, and as Yeoju strives to be reborn as a tourist city, I hope everyone will actively cooperate so that the Yeoju Ceramic Festival can become a representative festival of not only Gyeonggi Province but also the Republic of Korea.”
