The Only Participating Institution in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk
Providing Over 15-Minute Consultations for Patients with Severe and Rare Diseases
Chosun University Hospital (Director Kim Jin-ho) announced on the 10th that it has recently been selected by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as the only institution in the Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk regions to participate in the 'Pilot Project for Intensive Consultation Fees at Tertiary General Hospitals.'
The pilot project for intensive consultation fees at tertiary general hospitals is a program that allows patients with severe, rare, or intractable diseases to receive medical consultations for more than 15 minutes at tertiary general hospitals.
Intensive consultation refers to a medical practice in which sufficient time is allocated to provide appropriate care to patients who have been referred to a tertiary general hospital from other medical institutions due to the complexity of diagnosis and treatment of severe, rare, or intractable diseases.
At Chosun University Hospital, a total of 18 medical professionals from eight departments?including gastroenterology, surgery, orthopedics, nephrology, anesthesiology and pain medicine, infectious diseases, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, and pediatrics?will participate in intensive consultations.
Kim Jin-ho, the hospital director, said, "By providing intensive consultations of more than 15 minutes for patients with severe and rare diseases, we expect to improve the quality of care through accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment," and added, "In connection with this project, we will further strengthen our network with general hospitals to ensure prompt referrals, consultations, and patient returns."
