Damyang County Urges Residents to Apply for Early Payment of Car Tax

Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that it will be accepting applications for the 2025 annual vehicle tax prepayment program until the 31st.

The annual vehicle tax prepayment system allows residents to pay their vehicle tax, which is usually charged twice a year in June and December, in a lump sum in advance and receive a partial discount on the tax amount.

If you missed the January prepayment application, you can apply in March and receive a 3.76% tax reduction. Applications can also be made in June and September, but since the deduction rate decreases over time, it is more advantageous to apply in March if you missed January. Applications can be submitted via Wetax, the county finance department, or local town offices.

Payment can be made at ATMs or cash dispensers (CD/ATM) at financial institutions nationwide using your bankbook, debit card, or credit card. You can also pay without visiting a bank by using Wetax, Internet Giro, or a virtual account.

If you transfer ownership, scrap, or deregister your vehicle after prepayment, you can receive a refund for the remaining period. No additional tax is charged even if you change your address to another city or province.

A county official said, "The annual vehicle tax prepayment system is a great opportunity to receive tax benefits, so we hope many residents will actively take advantage of it."
